πŸ‡πŸ‡Ή Dropshipping from Haiti: payment and delivery

Based in Haiti and want to sell CJ products without stock? It works β€” but you need to understand three money movements and one important delivery detail.

In 1 minute

  • Your customer pays you in gourdes (HTG) (MonCash, NatCash, cash on delivery…)
  • You pay CJ in US dollars (USD) from your CJ wallet
  • CJ does not ship directly to Haiti: it delivers to Miami, then you bring it to Haiti

The 3 money movements (the key part)

1. The customer pays you β€” in HTG When a customer orders on your store, they pay with the methods you offer: MonCash, NatCash, cash on delivery, bank transfer or PayPal. This money goes to you.

2. You pay CJ β€” in USD Cartva automatically sends the paid order to CJ. CJ deducts the product cost + China β†’ Miami shipping from your CJ wallet, which is in US dollars. So you must fund this wallet in advance.

πŸ’‘ You don't pay CJ with MonCash. You top up the CJ wallet with PayPal or an international card (Visa/Mastercard in USD). If you don't have one, ask a relative in the diaspora to top it up for you.

3. From Miami to Haiti β€” on you CJ doesn't deliver directly to Haiti. For a Haitian order, Cartva ships the parcel to an address in Miami, Florida. You then use your usual freight forwarder / shipping agent (the companies running Miami β†’ Haiti) to collect the parcel and deliver it to your customer.

How to set your prices

Your selling price (in HTG) must cover EVERYTHING:

  • the product cost at CJ
  • China β†’ Miami shipping (charged by CJ)
  • Miami β†’ Haiti shipping (your forwarder)
  • possible customs / clearance fees
  • your margin (your profit)

Cartva shows the CJ cost converted to gourdes on each imported product to help you compute your margin. Also set realistic delivery fees in your store to cover the Miami β†’ Haiti leg.

Set up your store payments

In Settings β†’ Payments (or while creating the store), enable the methods that fit your customers:

  • MonCash and NatCash (mobile)
  • Cash on delivery
  • Bank transfer
  • PayPal (handy for the diaspora)

Steps to get started

  1. Create a CJ Dropshipping account and get your API key.
  2. In Cartva: Integrations β†’ CJ Dropshipping β†’ Connect, then paste the API key.
  3. Fund your CJ wallet in USD (PayPal / card).
  4. Import CJ products into your catalog and set your prices.
  5. Enable your payment methods and delivery fees.
  6. As soon as an order is confirmed and paid, Cartva sends it to CJ automatically.

Good to know (be clear with your customers)

  • Delivery takes longer: China β†’ Miami β†’ Haiti can take several weeks. Say so upfront.
  • Without enough CJ balance, the order won't go out. Always keep some funds.
  • Without a way to pay in USD, you can't fund CJ β€” fix this first.
  • Collect the customer's money before paying CJ so you don't pay out of pocket.

If an order doesn't go to CJ

  • Check that CJ is still Connected (Integrations page).
  • Check that your subscription is active and your CJ balance is enough.
  • Re-confirm the order to retry sending.
