What is social commerce?
Social commerce is the practice of using social media platforms — Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others — to discover products and complete purchases. For most small merchants, this means posting content, engaging followers, and directing them to a storefront link where they can buy.
Cartva does not replace your social profiles. It provides the destination: a professional store with checkout, inventory, and order management behind every link you share.
The typical flow
- You post a product photo or story on social media
- Followers click the link in your bio or post
- They land on your Cartva product or store page
- They complete checkout on your storefront
How it works on Cartva
Social selling on Cartva relies on three capabilities: shareable URLs, link previews, and tracking.
Shareable store and product links
Every product, collection, and your main store has a unique URL. Copy these from your dashboard or browser and paste them into social posts, link-in-bio tools, or paid ad campaigns.
Open Graph and previews
When someone shares your store link, platforms read Open Graph metadata to show a title, description, and image. Cartva generates this from your product photos and page settings. Clear images and concise titles improve click-through rates.
Tracking pixels
Add your Facebook Pixel and Google Analytics IDs in Settings. These scripts run on your storefront and report page views, add-to-cart events, and purchases back to the ad platforms. Use this data to measure ROAS and optimize campaigns.
SEO basics
Edit meta titles and descriptions for key pages. While social traffic is often direct-link driven, SEO helps customers who search your brand name or product type on Google.
Who it's for
Social commerce tools on Cartva serve merchants who already market on social platforms or plan to.
Good fit:
- Instagram and Facebook sellers transitioning from DM-only sales
- Influencers and creators monetizing an audience with a dedicated store link
- Brands running paid social ads that need a conversion-optimized landing page
- Businesses in markets where social discovery drives most new customers
Less relevant if:
- You sell exclusively through marketplaces with no social presence
- Your customers find you only through walk-in retail
